If you prefer only matte finish sunscreen, try the CeraVe Ultra-light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30ĬeraVe tinted sunscreen promises to blend seamlessly into all skin tones and while I can’t attest to that claim, I can tell you that it does blend in perfectly on my light-medium skin tone with a natural finish and looks like my bare-skin-but-better…and I LOVE that of course! Since the formula is quite sheer, I think it should work for most skin tones. That said, it might feel too moisturizing and/or emphasize shine if you have very oily skin. So, I don’t need a moisturizer when using this sunscreen and that’s a big plus in my book! I love how it provides the perfect dose of moisture that’s just right for my dry skin, without being heavy or greasy at all. True to its name, this sunscreen is also hydrating. In fact, I’d say it’s one of the best drugstore tinted moisturizers with SPF I’ve tried in quite some time! It’s very wearable on its own with a natural finish but also wears well under makeup without balling or pilling. Basically, it provides just a hint of coverage that evens my skin tone beautifully while adding a subtle, natural glow (not shiny or oily!) The sheer tint doesn’t provide much coverage but slightly blurs the appearance of blemishes and neutralizes any redness on my face. It absorbs quickly and blends in beautifully with a soft dewy finish, leaving a healthy glow without a white cast (which is offset by the sheer tint) The new CeraVe tinted sunscreen has a lightweight, creamy lotion texture that feels moisturizing and applies easily without a greasy, thick or heavy feeling. Water resistance: Although some of our facial-sunscreen picks are water resistant, if water resistance is your top priority, you may want to consider using a formula rated to resist moisture for up to 80 minutes-the highest such claim allowed by the FDA.Formulas that rub in easily and feel good to wear: We’ve considered a range of sunscreens with chemical UV filters, physical UV blockers, or some combinations of both, favoring those that suit most skin types and tones.“Broad spectrum” protection: Look for the words “broad spectrum” on the label to confirm that a sunscreen covers the full UV range, providing protection against both UVB and UVA rays. For this review, we excluded sunscreens with an SPF lower than 30, but we didn’t exclude sunscreens with a higher SPF. Higher-SPF formulas can be harder to rub in and can leave more of a white cast while providing minimal additional protection. SPF 30 or more: A sunscreen marked SPF 30 should shield skin from 97% of the sun’s UVB rays, and it’s what the American Academy of Dermatology advises as a minimum for daily wear.
